What are inline and block elements

You can think of a inline and block elements as brick and wall analogy . Just like brick is a small block whereas when we lay the bricks in a row it form a complete line in the same manner inline elements occupies that size which fits its content , whereas Block elements are those which takes complete line whatever you will after block elements it will appear after that line even it contains only four characters.
